Jan 30, 2010

This is the snowy view from the front of the lakehouse. It's 25 degrees and still snowing just a little. I think it's about to end, it's a little after 4pm now.

Brian and I have hunkered down here in lakehouse. It's snug and warm. We're on the 3rd movie of the day. Cheese and crackers and the chicken pot pie is in the oven.

I'm finally feeling a little better and actually want to get up and do things. I'm trying to stay quiet and not overdo things. I don't want to have a set back. We went outside and enjoyed a little fresh air and took a few pics.

Baxter doesn't even want to go outside. The wind blew snow all over the screen porch, so he got a chance to play it in. By the looks of his footprints, that's exactly what he did. He came in and had snow all over his belly. A thick, wet, hairy ball of fluff!

The little birds are at the feeder, junkos and chickadees. There was even a blue jay a little while ago. The crows came earlier and kept hitting the feeder to knock the seed on the ground so they could eat too. They are very smart. The geese swam by this morning. What a sight, some of them had several inches of snow on their backs. They looked really funny.

Under the Weather

These are the latest photos from Rebecca...Maya is so angelic and Ethan always has that sparkle in his eye.

I'm at home this week struggling with bronchitis. I just can't seem to get going without coughing, wheezing and just feeling crappy! Dr. said it would take 3 or 4 days for the meds to work and I am feeling a little better, but I'm bored and ready to be doing something else besides laying on the couch, watching tv, surfing the net and working on my lesson plans and board certification project for school. How can someone who is sick accomplish so much? I've even been grocery shopping on line this am. I'm worried about school, but know it will go on whether I am there or not. Brian is encouraging me to stay home tomorrow too, and really give my body a good rest to get over this. I'm beginning to think that is what I will do, as I have 7 classes scheduled with no break at all. I think I'm going to call at noon and see if my sub would like to do it all again tomorrow.

Today is Geep's Birthday and it was Claire's yesterday. I thought about her a couple of times during the day yesterday. I think I need to make a post for facebook for the family.

The outlook with the weather is for a "Winter Event" starting in the evening tomorrow. The weather folks have everyone wound up and ready to hunker down. Which is all fine and good and we need to be prepared, but they've done this twice already and we didn't get a drop of anything. When it does it for real, I'm afraid we may be a little complacent. I just ordered my groceries and will pick them up later. Plan to run the tub full if we stay home tomorrow night. No power means no bathroom. We would like to head to the lake, before the snow and stay there. It's easier there, even without power. We will need to go check on it, if we don't go, in case the power goes off. The pipes will freeze! It usually hits so if one house is without, then the other will be too.

Baxter is keeping me company. What a good kitty he is.

January 17, 2010

A rainy Sunday here at the lake. The good thing is there are football games on TV and we don't have to be anywhere! Nice to just be here and chilling! Had the Delellis' over for chili last night. A nice time with our friends. Everyone has worked hard outside to get our places looking good.

I took this awesome photo today of the fog on the lake.

I've got a year's worth of photos from the front steps looking out on the cove. Lots of sunrises and nice images such as this.
