Friday, November 27, 2009--Post Thanksgiving--Black Friday. I have done my fiscal duty and shopped on line and in the stores this past week. I braved the crowds in Roanoke Rapids this morning to pick up a few things for the grandchildren. Liked it so much, I'm going to try again in the morning to buy a new TV for the lakehouse and other bargain that strikes my fancy!
I checked when my last post was, and find it was in August following my foot surgery. My foot's doing okay, but not 100 percent yet. Somehow I thought it would be back to the way it was, but not yet. I've got tendinitis across the top of my toes, because I favor it without thinking about it. I'm starting to jump and run on it and I've also begun lifting weights and swimming. If I stress it too much, it is painful, but I hope that will improve. It will be 4 months Dec 3. I'm not sure if that is a reasonable recovery time or not. My job doesn't allow me to rest it much, so I think I push it a little much and then I have set backs. Teaching Jump Rope skills should be fun in January!
We have had a scary time with Brian's health the past few months. He had to have a heart catheterization which scared the dickens out of both of us. Fortunately, he has no blockages and we have used this as a wake up call to eat better, exercise and get our health back.
We have a new granddaughter on the way. She should be here in a week or so. We will be spending Christmas with Rebecca, Adam and Ethan and the new baby. We hope this will be a good family time for us all.
